Firmware for X-Pro1 | Fujifilm Global

The new firmware version 2.0 for the Fuji X-Pro1 is released. It makes the auto focus and the manual focus of the Fuji X-Pro1 faster and more reliable. In my reviews of the manual focus for the X-Pro1, I stated that the manual focus lag with the focus by wire focusing ring was unusable. After updating the firmware I’ve got to say that is is much improved and has gone leaps and bounds toward true geared manual focus but still falls short. There is a different feeling when using a manual geared focusing mechanism. Maybe its the feel of the […]

FUJIFILM INTRODUCES THE ALL NEW X-E1 INTERCHANGEABLE LENS DIGITAL CAMERA AND TWO XF LENSES TO THE X-SERIES SYSTEM | Press Center | Fujifilm USA. The new Fuji X-E1 is basically the Fuji X-Pro1 without the optical viewfinder. The Fuji X-E1 has a lower rear screen resolution than the Fuji X-Pro1 but has a very good electronic viewfinder so it really doesn’t matter. Control layout is virtually identical except for the review button which has moved to the upper left hand side of the rear LCD. This is very exciting because the Fuji X-E1 has a lower price point than the […]

As a follow-up to the Zeiss 18mm F4.0 vs. Fujinon 18mm F2.0 lens review, I figured I’d do the same test for the Zeiss 35mm F2.0 vs. the Fujinon 35mm F1.4 lens. I’m sure there are many of you out there are curious to see how these lenses will stack up against each other on the Fuji X-Pro1 and an APS-C 1.5x crop body. The Buzz around the internet as well as here on Photohead Online, has been the Fujinon 35mm F1.4 is a very good lens with amazing performance. In a previous article on portraits, I used the Fuji X-Pro1 […]

Fuji X-Pro1: Portraits

Portraits with the Fuji X-Pro1 I’ve been shooting with the Fuji X-Pro1 now for a couple of weeks and I wanted to give my impressions on the camera, the handling, and how it performs when shooting portraits. I used the Fuji X-Pro1 with the Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R Lens. My goals were to show how easy it was to get the camera, attach a lens, and with minimal setup, start shooting. With this in mind, not special film simulations were used. Camera setting were all in default mode, ISO set to Auto, And aperture set to Auto. I shot these […]
