Firmware for X-Pro1 | Fujifilm Global

The new firmware version 2.0 for the Fuji X-Pro1 is released. It makes the auto focus and the manual focus of the Fuji X-Pro1 faster and more reliable. In my reviews of the manual focus for the X-Pro1, I stated that the manual focus lag with the focus by wire focusing ring was unusable. After updating the firmware I’ve got to say that is is much improved and has gone leaps and bounds toward true geared manual focus but still falls short. There is a different feeling when using a manual geared focusing mechanism. Maybe its the feel of the […]

Frame Lines in the Optical View Finder: Fuji X-Pro1

If you read my review of a Third Party M lens mount to Fuji X Pro mount you’ll know that one of the issues that I had with the overall usage of the lens adapter on the body, was that you didn’t get any frame lines for custom lenses in the optical view finder. With the release of the body firmware 1.10, Fujifilm has added custom frame lines to the optical viewfinder. Yea!!! With the firmware upgrade, if you set the camera to 50mm or 18mm or 75mm you will get an approximate frame line, that is fairly accurate. With lenses that are 15mm and […]

Fuji X-Pro1: Leica M mount to Fuji X mount Adapter Review

***Update*** June 12, 2012 With the release of the body firmware 1.10, Fujifilm has added custom frame lines to the optical viewfinder. So if you read the issues section below you will find that originally, there were no frame lines for your custom focal lengths. With the firmware upgrade, if you set the camera to 50mm or 18mm or 75mm you will get an approximate frame line that is fairly accurate. With lenses that are 15mm and 12mm the angle of view is wider than what the optical viewfinder shows so the camera lets you know this by putting a […]

Fuji X-Pro1 - Mom Approved??

Continuing with our very popular “Mom Approved” articles, this time we’re looking at the Fuji X-Pro1. We want to see if this camera is truly “Mom Approved”. In the “Mom Approved” Series of Articles we focus on: Ease of Use Focus Handling Value to Cost Ratio I’ve been shooting the Fuji X-Pro1 for a couple of weeks now and I must say that I’ve been pretty impressed by the lenses, that Fuji has put out for this camera. This camera being an interchangeable lens camera the lenses are a big part of the performance of this camera. Fuji has started […]

Fuji X-Pro1 Review. By Ken Rockwell Fuji X-Pro1 can be found at Adorama He has many interesting findings of the camera regarding handling and some much deserved praise for Fuji’s Fujinon 35mm f1.4 lens. Sharper and better than Leica??  You be the judge. Also the low light capabilities are in line with what I’ve found as well as many others. Just amazing!! I’ll be posting some real world low light images for you to see also and I agree with him that the Fuji X-Pro1 is a photographers camera, something that a lot of us have been waiting a long […]

Fuji X-Pro-1 - Unboxing

Fuji X-Pro-1 – Unboxing Fuji X-Pro-1 Body It’s interesting to note that the packaging for the Fuji x-pro 1 is not as nice in my opinion then the Fuji X1oo. The packaging for the x100 was something of a collector’s camera with the faux velvet where the camera sits and the box lid that is held in with ribbon that’s more a kin to a presentation box. This camera is more expensive, similar quality, and the flag ship of the fuji line yet it has a more subdued packaging then the x100. That all being said, I don’t mind it […]
