Fuji X-Pro1 w/ Voigtlander 15mm F4.5 Aspherical: Samples

For the past week, I’ve been testing many M Mount lenses on the Fuji X-Pro1. I will have these tests in the up coming days, but for the time being, I wanted to give you a sneak peek of some “real world” shots. These images were made with the Fuji X-Pro1 with the Voigtlander 15mm F4.5 Aspherical Lens. The Fuji X-Pro1 has a APS-C sized sensor with a 1.5x Crop Factor. So the Voigtlander 15mm F4.5 lens would have the 35mm film equivalent of a 22.5mm lens. This is the closest you can get to the very popular 21mm focal […]

Sony NEX-7 50mm F1.8 OSS video test

I just wanted to post a quick video test that I did with the Sony NEX-7 with Sony 50mm F1.8 OSS lens. I wanted to see the performance of the Optical Steady Shot on the Sony 50mm F1.8. I was at Seaworld, San Diego catching the Clyde and Seamore Show and the Intro was very entertaining so, I recorded it all hand-held and did some panning back and forth to follow the action. I was impressed by how the Optical Steady Shot worked and besides getting bumped here and there by my son, the video was pretty smooth. The video […]

Top 5 Point and Shoot Cameras for Mom under $100 If you are the default camera guy/gal in your family like I am, you may get this question a lot. “What camera should I get? I don’t have a lot of money though!”  I actually love this question, because for my friends and family, I like to find what camera is going to suit their needs the best. Olympus OM-D E-M5 Review: Gold Award

This Olympus OM-D E-M5 has been much anticipated by many photo enthusiasts. The rumors sites have been buzzing about this camera and the anticipation of the Image Quality and retro handling that it may provide. With the OM markings this camera is not to be mistaken for the “old school” Olympus OM camera systems but more of a homage to the very popular enthusiast camera of the 70’s to 90’s. The new OM-D E-M5 will not have the same OM lens mount but will instead have a miro four thirds mount. It boasts the worlds fastest contrast type autofocus system […]

Fuji X-Pro1: Portraits

Portraits with the Fuji X-Pro1 I’ve been shooting with the Fuji X-Pro1 now for a couple of weeks and I wanted to give my impressions on the camera, the handling, and how it performs when shooting portraits. I used the Fuji X-Pro1 with the Fujinon XF 35mm F1.4 R Lens. My goals were to show how easy it was to get the camera, attach a lens, and with minimal setup, start shooting. With this in mind, not special film simulations were used. Camera setting were all in default mode, ISO set to Auto, And aperture set to Auto. I shot these […]
