Firmware for X-Pro1 | Fujifilm Global

The new firmware version 2.0 for the Fuji X-Pro1 is released. It makes the auto focus and the manual focus of the Fuji X-Pro1 faster and more reliable. In my reviews of the manual focus for the X-Pro1, I stated that the manual focus lag with the focus by wire focusing ring was unusable. After updating the firmware I’ve got to say that is is much improved and has gone leaps and bounds toward true geared manual focus but still falls short. There is a different feeling when using a manual geared focusing mechanism. Maybe its the feel of the […]

Photography Basics: Aperture

There is a lot of information out there on the web and some of it can be very confusing and hard to absorb so I decided to do a series of posts that talk quickly and in non-technical jargon so that it may be easier to understand. First topic is Aperture. What is Aperture? Aperture is the size of the hole inside the lens. It is also called a F-Stop. Photographers use these terms interchangeably, but they mean the exact same thing. They allow light to pass through the lens and onto your sensor or film.  So why is […]

FIRMWARE UPDATE VERSION 2.00 IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FUJIFILM X-PRO1 | Press Center | Fujifilm USA. I’m so happy with the commitment that Fuji has with it’s X line of cameras. I think they realize what a following that they have with these new mirrorless cameras and how doing the right thing for the sake of the customer will win them more loyalty in the long run. With the recent announcement of the New Fuji X-E1 and the supposed increase in speed of the autofocus, as a X-Pro1 owner, would have felt very slighted if they didn’t provide a […]

FUJIFILM INTRODUCES THE ALL NEW X-E1 INTERCHANGEABLE LENS DIGITAL CAMERA AND TWO XF LENSES TO THE X-SERIES SYSTEM | Press Center | Fujifilm USA. The new Fuji X-E1 is basically the Fuji X-Pro1 without the optical viewfinder. The Fuji X-E1 has a lower rear screen resolution than the Fuji X-Pro1 but has a very good electronic viewfinder so it really doesn’t matter. Control layout is virtually identical except for the review button which has moved to the upper left hand side of the rear LCD. This is very exciting because the Fuji X-E1 has a lower price point than the […]
